This public excursion departs at 9:00am from infront the Tourist Office of BORDEAUX
After 1.5 hour drive from Bordeaux you enter the vineyard of Cognac where you meet an artisan distiller, who owns his/her vineyard.
During the private tour of his wine cellars and distilleries, he discloses some family and professional secrets, then he comments his cognacs during a tasting of some of them.
After this timeless encounter you enjoy sceneries of the vineyard on the way to your restaurant. You admire some Romanesque churches. Your guide explains the vine-growing process and highlights the parallel histories of the region and of the vineyard, the scheme of the elaboration of cognac, the organization of the professions from the vine to the glass ...
After lunch you reach the town of Cognac where you visit a famous trading house (Martell, Rémy Martin ...) located downtown Cognac, where stages from elaboration, eaux-de-vie ageing, blending, marketing to tasting are presented.
At last, you have some time for a quick tour of the old town of Cognac, for shopping at the shop presenting over 500 different cognacs or for a short visit at the Museum of Cognac Technics.
You are back in Bordeaux between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
